Welcome to the NHTRA!
The Northfield House Tenants and Residents Association (NHTRA, or just ‘TRA’) is the voice of those living in Northfield House. In its long history, the TRA has been a big part of transforming Northfield House into a vibrant community with three beautiful gardens. We have campaigned successfully for many improvements to the block such as a new roof, bikesheds, gardens etc, and the TRA has even helped save Northfield House from threatened demolition (twice!).

Recent and upcoming events
Late 2016 and early 2017 have been busy for the TRA, with the usual array of garden events, including BBQs and working days. Aside from that, there have been three major events. September saw, for the third year running, our participation in the Peckham and Nunhead Free Film Festival, with a screening, well-attended despite the less-than-ideal weather, of “Beasts of the Southern Wild”, a mystical drama made in 2012 set in Louisiana during Hurricane Season. In late December, a group of residents made their way to Kew Gardens for a visit to the magical Christmas illuminations. And in January, for the second year, the Wassail fire party blessed the Northfield meadow orchard with wintry cheer.
More events are to come, including a summer walking trip to Kent (very popular when we last did it a couple of years ago), yet another film night in September, and of course plenty of garden action. Stay tuned for further details…

Fire Party with Choir, Sunday 31 January 2016
Our premier winter event – a Fire Party with burning braziers, cheery refreshments and a performing choir! – went ahead on a cold but thankfully fine evening in late January, across two of our gardens. A large attendance saw a wonderful performance from the Peckham Community Choir, ate and drank merrily, and generally had a great time until late. We are very pleased at the success of this event – so pleased we hope to make it our annual winter event. More soon!
